08/30/2020 Markets were up for the week after the FED pledged to keep Interest Rates “lower for longer”. This could mean that the FED could ignore upticks in Inflation to help the 36% of the S&P 500 stocks that are still below their Long Term averages (Bearish). Normally Bonds would weaken when they see Inflation coming (but the FED is also propping up Bonds now). The Relative Strength of Long Term Gov’t. Bonds has tanked recently, and we will watch to see if Smart Money leaves Long Term Bonds from Inflation Fears.
The NASDAQ 100 Index and S&P 500 Index made New Highs this week, with the help of about 15 Large Cap Stocks. But the DOW 30 Index, the New York Index and the Small Caps are still lower than in February.
After the emotional Investors spend all of their Cash by buying Way Above the Green Lines, the Markets will pull back. Then we will Buy Investments that have recently made New Highs. These are NASDAQ 100 (QQQ), Semiconductor Fund (SMH), Home Building Fund (XHB), Internet Fund (FDN) & Retail Fund (XRT), but they are currently over bought. Gold Miners (GDX) and Silver Fund (SLV) just went back into Short Term Buy Signals.
The PENNY STOCK WATCH LIST has many Green Zones Buy Signals soon that are 50-80% off the recent Highs.
For the week the Dow was up 2.59%, the S&P 500 was up 3.26%, and the Nasdaq 100 was up 3.78%. The Long Term Trend for the Indices is up.
The Inflation Index (CRB) was up 2.32% and is slightly Above the Green Line, indicating Economic Strength.
Bonds were down 3.06% for the week and are Above the Green Line, indicating Economic Weakness.
The US DOLLAR was down 0.99% for the week and is Below the Green Line.
Crude Oil was up 1.49% for the week at $42.97 and GOLD was up 1.43% at $1974.90.
